July

Our freedom is a gift. Our movement is a gateway, connecting us back to our gifts by the way of breath, functional movement, and community. By practicing gratitude, acceptance, and freedom we become the true versions of ourselves. Our independence cultivates connectivity and we are better able to serve those who are struggling or in need.

YoBa is a celebration of the freedom we experience in our minds, bodies, hearts, and souls. Our perceptions expand as we acknowledge that we are all connected to something greater than ourselves.

To be a YoBi is to be the light that shines in the darkness. When you shine, we all shine. #yobashine

YoBa YTT Graduate and YoBa Yoga Instructor

Why would you recommend YTT at YoBa?

I decided to do the training because I wanted to deepen my personal practice and see where it lead from there. The very first week I felt nervous and insecure because I thought the class would be full of 20 year olds that could do handstands and backbends with their eyes closed and I was going to feel like the old mom. It was exactly the opposite. What I found was a group of extremely supportive women all anxious but ready to go on this journey together. We each came with our baggage and broken parts, but had a desire to know ourselves and each other more and to learn and grow. Sam and Leanna were fantastic and totally disarming from the get-go. They expressed so clearly that they were there for us. That immediately put me at ease and changed my whole mind set. I wasn't there to impress or perform...I was there to learn, grow, and connect with a group of women I'd never met but soon became people I'll cherish forever.

What did you love most about TT?

Teacher Training ended up being not only a deepening of my personal practice and knowledge of yoga, but about connecting to others and being part of their story. Cheering on other women and lifting each other up so we can all stand strong. I loved our weekends together and I will always look back on those months as an incredible time of growth physically, mentally, and personally.I loved every moment of my experience!

What does YoBaShine mean to you?

YoBaShine is our way of saying that it’s not just the movement in the studio- it’s the way your movement at YoBa allows you to live with more intention. YoBaShine means something different to each of us...

YoBi of the Month - Corey Ellis

"Well I was looking to improve my mobility/flexibility after losing over 80lbs in 2018. I wanted to incorporate hot yoga and I tried a few studios. YoBa was the one that I felt most comfortable, honestly speaking. Sam, Mary Mac, Mary Margaret, Molly, Caity, and the entire team has made me feel comfortable in a setting where I would normally be uncomfortable. Plus its really hot and the workouts are great. Since January, I have seen a real growth in my practice from just surviving, to now actually trying to focus on breathing and other aspects of my practice. It's really been an invaluable outlet. I am looking forward to continuing to improve my practice at YoBa."
