International Women's Day: Practice for Progress

We are feeling extra feels, love and support for our YoBa community today - it’s International Women’s Day! Every year IWD is celebrated on March 8, and with each year a different theme. This year’s theme, #PressforProgress, encourages supporters to advocate for key women’s right issues in today’s world: gender parity, positive visibility for women, and the celebration of all the AMAZING things women achieve and accomplish. More pointedly, SUPPORTING AND CELEBRATING women!

Our theme at the studio this month is support - focusing on how we support our personal wellbeing, the part that mindful movement (and YoBa!) plays in that, and most importantly how we support and are supported by our community. The strong, powerful, resilient, BEAUTIFUL women of YoBa. Today, we dedicate our practice to #PressforProgress and to all of the women in our community and beyond who are doing amazing things. Achieving greatness. Pushing through the struggles. Making it happen. Making a difference.

We hope you’re feeling empowered and inspired today by the positive energy around this movement. We have been talking and thinking a lot about actualizing and manifesting dreams - putting in the work to make it happen. But you can’t do it alone. That’s where the support system - the YoBa community - comes in. To empower YOU today, we wanted to share an awesome article from Yoga Journal - “10 Poses to Empower You to Create Positive Change in the World”. We will definitely be doing these tonight!

Here’s to you, YoBis, and to women everywhere!

XO,

YoBa Fam
