What to Expect

What we stand for...

We believe our movement should be equal parts fun, and intentional that will lead us to a life of longevity within our movement. Movement is an opportunity to celebrate our bodies ability to move rather than punish it. We encourage all clients to move and live intuitively. 

What should I bring to class?

Please plan to bring a yoga mat, water and towel to class. We do have mats to rent for $2 and complimentary hand towels for you in case you forget! We also have bottled Essentia wate and C2O coconut water for sale. 

What is the studio etiquette like?

Our studio is all about community. We want you to feel welcome here, meet new people, and chat with friends. During class times, we ask that talking is kept to a minimum. Please remember to check in at the front desk, leave cell phones in the lobby, and take shoes off before entering the studio. If you cannot attend a class you signed up for within an hour before the class begins, it will result in loss of the class drop in, or late fee. Please always reach out with questions! 

What should I wear to class?

All of our classes involve movement of your entire body, so please plan to wear clothing that you are comfortable moving in. Be mindful that all classes are heated so be prepared to sweat! Students are typically barefoot during yoga and barre classes. Groove dance cardio requires sneakers and our Signature class highly encourages sneakers for the first part of class. 

What type of heat does YoBa Studio offer?

Come feel the difference with our Heating Green (FAR Infrared heating system). What makes infrared radiant heating feel so different than traditional forced air systems is the way the heat is distributed. Forced air can make your yoga feel stuffy and leave you feeling dried out, a session with infrared heat feels clean and invigorating. Because heat is distributed directly, infrared radiant heating panels do not blow air and heat silently, creating a superior hot yoga experience. We do offer some Non-Heated classes for those students that prefer to practice without heat. Please see our schedule for the most up-to-date information. 

I'm new to yoga, what class should I take?

All levels are welcome in any of our yoga classes, whether you are brand new to yoga or barre. We encourage that any movement is good movement. Our instructors are trained to understand proper anatomical movement and will set you up for success through alignment based cues. We also offer a Yoga and/or Barre Fundamentals class once per month that includes one-on-one instructions and a breakdown of poses and positions. Our instructors are always willing to work with you individually before or after class to help this movement better serve your body. We are here for you! 

Should I eat before class?

We recommend eating about two hours in advance of class. If you feel like you need to eat a little something before class consider fruits like bananas or apples, nuts, energy bars, etc. We also have Set Bars for sale if you need to grab something while at the studio. 

Are children allowed?

Children 12 years and older are welcome to attend and participate in classes while accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. Thank you for understanding that we are looking to keep everyone safe!
